An ode to hip hop, black american culture & classic art.
The idea of remixing imagery, visual language and narratives is something that’s always been in the back of my mind and what helped me as a fashion analyst, trend forecasting and creating mood boards for brands and collections.
And you know what? It goes back to Dapper Dan, the Harlem Hip Hop Tailor. I didn’t know his name until I was older, but I grew up watching his vision and outcomes worn on the bodies of musicians I loved – the originator of luxury streetwear, the first time I saw remix in action.
